Circular fire damper with manual mechanic - 250 mm

Circular fire damper with manual mechanic - 250 mm

Product description

Circular fire damper with manual mechanic diameter 250 mm. Optimised circular fire damper with a minimum fire resistance of 60 minutes. The pressure loss is minimal thanks to the thin blade, the fusible link aligned with the blade, and the transmission located outside the tunnel.

Additional specifications and description

Overview:
Fire dampers are distinguished by their degree of fire resistance, airflow properties, and ease of installation. The Rf-t fire dampers offer outstanding performance characteristics in all of these areas. They have been tested to withstand fire for at least 60 minutes and successfully block air pressures up to 500 Pa. Rf-t fire dampers are designed for optimal airflow and acoustic performance. Air pressure loss is minimal thanks to the thin damper blade and the fusible link, which is aligned with the blade. The operating mechanism is located on the exterior and does not impede airflow. The galvanised steel body contributes to the low weight and rigidness of the damper. Installation is easy and air-tight (class C according to EN 1751), thanks to spigots with rubber gaskets.

Application:
Fire dampers prevent flame and smoke propagation in case of a fire. They are mounted in locations where air ducts penetrate fire-resistant interior walls. Their function is to restore the fire resistance grade of the penetrated wall to the same level as if it was solid. When the temperature in the duct reaches 72 °C, the fusible link melts, triggering the mechanism and closing the damper blade. A strip of intumescent material placed around the damper blade expands and further seals the damper. Fire dampers are a paramount fire safety device in modern buildings. By stopping the propagation of flames and smoke, they allow for the safe evacuation of the building.

Construction and installation:
The body of the damper is constructed out of galvanised steel. The male-male ends are equipped with rubber gaskets for an air-tight seal with round/Spiro ducts. The device is designed for indoor use in ambient temperatures of up to 50 °C. While the damper can withstand up to 95% humidity, water should not be allowed to condense on the unit. The fire damper is suitable for installation in solid walls, solid floors and light walls i.e. metal stud gypsum plasterboard walls. The fire damper is easy to install and only requires a minimal distance from any adjacent wall(s). It's also possible to use in-line mounting. When installed in oddly shaped or oversized openings, it is recommended to seal around the damper with stone wool boards. In general, care should be taken, when insulating around the damper, so as to not compromise the fire resistance of the wall. When used in a horizontal orientation, the operating mechanism of the damper should not be tilted more than 45 degrees. Whatever the mounting location, the operating mechanism should always be accessible with at least 200 mm of space around it. While the device does not require any specific maintenance once installed, it should be visually inspected twice a year. Along with the visual inspection, the operating mechanism should be manually engaged and reset to ensure it operates freely.
The full technical specifications and installation instructions for each use case are provided by the manufacturer. The documentation can be found on this page.
The final airtightness of the ventilation system depends on several factors, for example, the installation method.
