Additional specifications and description
Overview:
Axial flow window fan by Vents designed for residential exhaust ventilation. The durable UV-resistant ABS plastic housing has a modern, aesthetically appealing design. Therefore, the product fits well in most interior spaces. A thermal actuator automatically opens and closes the louvres to prevent backdraft when the fan is off. The device is designed for silent operation. As a result, this fan is suitable for intermittent and continuous ventilation. It is possible to control the fan speed using a thyristor-based speed controller. More than one fan can be connected to the same controller, provided the total power does not exceed the design specifications of the controller. Note that the T, TH, TP, VT and VTH modifications do not support fan speed control. The operating temperature range for the fan is between 0°C and +45°C.
Application:
Modern ventilation systems use many different fan designs that each have their advantages and disadvantages, making them best suited for a specific purpose. Window fans represent an easy-to-install option for rooms that do not have a ventilation shaft or a wall opening for a wall fan. Fans from the Vents MAO series are best suited for residential applications where exhaust ventilation is required. This fan is ideal for use in kitchens, toilets, bathrooms, laundry rooms and other utility rooms requiring periodic or constant ventilation. However, the fan is equally suitable for light commercial applications where it can be used to vent a small storage space or a small workshop. The silent operation and low power consumption make the fan unobtrusive and economical, even when operating constantly. The device is easy to use, as it can be operated via the room’s light switch. The fan does not require maintenance apart from periodic cleaning of the impeller and louvres.
Construction and installation:
The fan casing and impeller are constructed out of ABS plastic. This is a durable and UV-resistant material which will not change colour or become brittle even when exposed to direct sunlight. The device is designed to be mounted in windows with glass with thickness in the range of 4 mm to 17 mm. A circular hole has to be cut in the window glass beforehand. For the model with a 125 mm impeller, the opening should be 160 mm in diameter; for the 150 mm impeller model, the hole diameter should be 180 mm. The fan comes with two gaskets - one for each side of the glass. The gaskets are required to ensure a tight seal. The two halves of the housing are being tightened together by means of the included plastic nuts. The plastic nuts should not be overtightened, as this can damage the sealing gaskets and the bolt threads or break the window glass.
Power is connected via a standard screw terminal inside the fan housing.
Note that as this device creates vibrations during operation, it is important to periodically inspect the fan, to make sure the device is still securely mounted. The fan blades and louvres will require periodic cleaning and should be cleaned twice a year. The fan is not designed to handle smoke or other combustion products, corrosive chemicals and fuels, or other impurities that might stick to the blades and casing.
