Monobloc or split, which is better?

The choice depends on several factors such as budget, location, climate etc.
Split systems offer more flexibility during the design and installation of the heat pump system.
Monobloc heat pumps are easier and cheaper to install, as they are a one-piece system and since no refrigerant lines have to be routed.
Monobloc heat pumps are also cheaper in most cases and can be installed by technicians without a refrigerant certification.
On the other hand, they are heavier and bulkier when compared to the outside unit of a comparable split system, as everything is contained within the body of the monobloc heat pump.
Monobloc heat pumps are, in general, louder and more susceptible to freezing in very cold weather, though these concerns do not apply to Viessmann monobloc heat pumps.
