Victron Lynx Power In modular DC busbar

No rating yet

Product description

The Lynx Power In is a modular DC busbar with four M8 cable lug connections for batteries/DC loads. Thanks to its wide voltage range from 9 to 60 VDC and current limit of 1000 A, it is ideal for 12, 24 and 48 V systems. It can be used as a standalone unit or as a component of the Lynx Distribution System. A DC busbar is required when connecting multiple DC loads or DC batteries, such as in a PV system with batteries for local storage. If the application requires more DC connections, it is possible to daisy chain two or more Lynx Power In devices, as long as the current does not exceed the limit. The product features a robust ABS plastic chassis with an IP 22 protection rating.

Additional specifications and description

Application
The function of the Lynx Power In is to connect four DC devices to a common busbar, typically in photovoltaic systems with batteries for local storage. The battery/batteries, the solar charge controller, and the inverter are all connected to a common busbar. It is designed for use with 12, 24 and 48 V systems and currents up to 1000 A.
The Lynx Power In is a part of Victron’s Lynx distribution system, which includes the Lynx Distributor, Lynx Shunt VE.Can and the Lynx Smart BMS.

What is the Lynx distribution system?
A Lynx distribution system usually consists of a single Lynx Shunt VE.Can module or a single Lynx Smart BMS module. The choice between a Lynx Shunt VECan or a Lynx Smart BMS depends on the type of batteries in the system. The Lynx Smart BMS can only be used with the Victron Energy Lithium Smart Batteries, while the Lynx Shunt VE.Can is suitable for all other batteries. Then, single, multiple or a combination of Lynx Distributor modules and/or Lynx Power In modules are added. Together they form a continuous negative and positive busbar with DC connections and, depending on the configuration, integrated fuses a battery monitor and/or lithium battery management.
In systems that do not require battery monitoring and management, it is possible to only use Lynx Power In modules and/or Lynx Distributor modules without a Lynx Smart BMS module or a Lynx Shunt VE.Can module.

Design and mounting
The Lynx Power In contains a positive and a negative busbar, each made from tinned copper with a thickness of 8 mm and width of 30 mm. The enclosure is made from sturdy ABS plastic with an IP22 protection rating. The Lynx Power In should be wall mounted using the 5 mm mounting holes. The device can operate in a wide temperature range from -40 °C to +60 °C and up to 95% humidity, but it is not suited for external mounting.
All devices from the Lynx family are modular and designed to be interconnected or “daisy chained” via the busbar terminals on the left side using the provided M8 screw holes.
