No rating yet

Product description

The Carlo Gavazzi EM24 is an energy analyser designed for direct connection up to 65 A, it is compatible with one- two- and three-phase systems up to 400 V L-L. The EM24 is compatible with the Victron Cerbo GX communication centre and is required for Victron Energy Storage System (ESS) applications. Data is displayed in a clear and concise matter on the built-in backlit LCD. The product is easy to use and set up thanks to its intuitive user interface featuring a 5-way joystick, or the Carlo Gavazzi UCS Software. It’s self-powered via the line connections and fits in all standard electrical panels with a DIN rail (4-DIN format). RJ45 Ethernet output for local area network connectivity.

Additional specifications and description

Application and use case
The EM24 can be installed in any low-voltage switchboard to monitor the energy consumption (active, reactive and apparent energy), and the main electrical variables, including total harmonic distortion.
The device is compatible with Victron-based photovoltaic and ESS systems and communicates via Ethernet with the GX device i.e. Cerbo GX.
In a Victron-based system, the EM24 can measure the output of a PV inverter, a generator, or a dedicated AC load.

Main features
Accurate measuring - the EM24 complies with the precision international standard IEC/EN62053-21 and with the performance requirements (power and active energy) set out by IEC/EN61557-12.

Comprehensive energy measurements – total and partial kWh and kVArh or based on four different tariffs; single phase measurements (per phase). TRMS measurements of distorted sine waves (voltages/currents) at a rate of 1600 samples/s at 50 Hz line frequency.

Quick commissioning – the EM24 is connected directly without the need for a separate power supply or external current transformers. It doesn’t require an RS485 to USB interface to connect to a Cerbo GX either, as both devices simply need to be in the same local network. The EM24 can also be configured via the Carlo Gavazzi UCS software, which is available for download free of charge.

Flexible installation – the unit can be installed in low voltage applications with single-phase, two-phase with neutral, three-phase with neutral and three-phase without neutral configuration.

Enhanced readability - the backlit display ensures perfect visibility even in low light.

Easy browsing – Thanks to its convenient joystick interface, the EM24 is simple and intuitive to use.

Design and installation
The Carlo Gavazzi EM24 uses a 4-DIN format making it compatible with all standard electric panels/switchboards that use a 35 mm DIN rail.
The EM24 has a robust construction and a wide operating temperature range from -25 to +55 °C and can work in up to 90% relative humidity at 40 °C.
The unit itself has an IP50 protection rating, and the connection terminals have a rating of IP20.
The connection terminals support cables with a width of between 2.5 to 16 mm2, with cable lugs.
Note that when connecting in a single-phase configuration, a bridge between terminals 1 and 4 will be required.
