Overview
The ET340 is a highly accurate three-phase transducer from the Italian manufacturer Carlo Gavazzi.
The transducer measures active and reactive energy, summing (easy connection mode on) or separating imported energy from exported energy.
A run-hour meter is available to link the energy to the relevant working hours.
The device is suitable for active energy metering and for cost allocation in applications up to 65 A (with a direct connection), with support for dual tariff management.
It can measure imported and exported energy or be programmed to consider only the imported one.
Application
We highly recommend using the Carlo Gavazzi ET340 for use with Victron-based photovoltaic systems, as a more budget-friendly alternative to the Carlo Gavazzi EM530 (as it is both cheaper, and doesn't require external current transformers).
It can be used as a grid meter to control the input of an ESS system, it can measure the output of photovoltaic inverters or AC generators, and can be used as an AC meter to measure the output of an inverter/charger.
The device is fully supported out-of-the-box by VenusOS, the operating system running on Victron GX devices, such as the Cerbo GX and Cerbo-S GX
It can be connected using the RS485 to USB interface, or Zigbee to USB and Zigbee to RS485 converter.

The ET340 can directly measure currents of up to 65 A per phase, without the need for an external current transformer. This makes it suitable and cheaper to use than the EM530 for smaller three-phase installations. The EM530 works with external current transformers, and can be used in ...
