No rating yet

Product description

The Victron EV Charging Station NS is a three-phase EV (Electric Vehicle) charger with a standard IEC 62196 Type 2 EV charging plug. It can output up to 22 kW AC when connected to three-phase power or 7,3 kW in single-phase mode. The EV Charging Station NS is suitable for indoor and outdoor wall mounting thanks to its sturdy plastic chassis with an IP 44 protection rating. The fully programmable RGB LED light ring around the connector presents status information at a glance. The device features built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for monitoring and control. The charging station integrates seamlessly with a Victron PV/ESS system, offering comprehensive control over the charging behaviour.

Additional specifications and description

Overview

The Victron EV Charging Station NS is a more compact, customisable version of the standard EV Charging Station.

It omits the built-in LCD screen but still provides the same hassle-free charging for EVs on-site for homes and small businesses.

With up to 22 kW AC output (when connected to three-phase power), it enables much quicker charging compared to a standard 220 V wall outlet.

While the charging station can be used as a stand-alone device, in order to get the most out of the product, it should be integrated into a Victron-based PV/ESS system featuring a GX series device.

Connectivity and control options
Controlling the device is possible via the web interface, the remote console, the VRM portal (requires a GX device), Bluetooth via the VictronConnect App and via GX Touch 50 & GX Touch 70 devices.

The unit features built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for configuration, control and monitoring. The internal Wi-Fi module can work in Access Point or Station mode. In Access point mode, the device broadcasts an AP; when in Station mode, the device connects to an existing Wi-Fi AP. Both options can be used for the initial setup and subsequent control/monitoring.

Bluetooth communication via VictronConnect capability enables easy monitoring and control of the EV Charging Station via VictronConnect from iOS and Android mobile devices.

Charging modes

  • Manual mode

When in this mode, the user can manually configure the charging current of the EV Charging Station NS from 6 to 32 A in 1 A increments.
Charging a connected EV can always be stopped or resumed,
regardless of the state of the PV system.

  • Automatic mode

When a GX device such as the Cerbo GX or Cerbo-S GX is present, the Charging Station NS can run in Automatic mode.
In this mode, the PV system will prioritise sending power to the building and charging the ESS (if any). The charging station will only use the
surplus power for charging the connected electric vehicle.

  • Scheduled mode

The scheduler function adds even more fine-grain control, making it possible to set specific time intervals and charging current for charging as the charging current. This way, the EV can be recharged when the electricity prices are lowest.

VRM functionality
Real-time reports
, custom reports for configurable time periods and advanced functions such as remote firmware updates are all available via the Victron Remote Management portal.

The charge mode and charging current can be set via Dashboard Controls on the VRM Portal and start/stop charging.

Control and monitoring are also possible via VRM App (available on the App Store and Google Play) and VRM App Widgets directly from the home screen of a mobile device.

Design and construction
The EV charging station has a pleasing, modern design with interchangeable front panels, available in 3 different colours.

It comes with the standard Victron light blue (RAL 5012), but a Traffic Black (RAL 9017), and Traffic White (RAL 9016) panel can be purchased separately.

It features a sturdy plastic chassis with IP44 protection, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor wall mounting.
A fully programmable
RGB light ring around the charging port displays the device status at a glance.

The LED ring can be programmed via the web interface to display different light effects when disconnected, charging, fully charged etc.

Important information regarding the device firmware
Please note that not all features are present in the initial firmware release. To enable Bluetooth and charge scheduling functionality, update the firmware to version 1.24 or newer during the initial setup. The manufacturer intends to add more features in the future via firmware updates.
We recommended checking for firmware updates periodically and keeping the device
up-to-date.
